This week, I bound off on the second reggae sock.
I taught myself to knit socks in October of 2010. This is the second pair i have completed, the first being a pair of socks I made my mother for Christmas this past year.
I have two socks that are awaiting their sister. I’m not sure I’ll ever finish the partner for my first sock; the yarn is not fun to knit with, though the striping effect is pretty.
But my second sock missing its partner I do plan on finishing. I found it the other day and fell in love with the colors all over again.
But back to the Reggae Socks. I used a simple pattern because these were the first socks I was making for my boyfriend. I wanted to make sure they fit before trying to do something fancy. And I’m happy to say they do.
They are incredibly warm and comfortable. He will enjoy them during the colder months, very much. And they look just fantastic with his matching hat.
I had feared I would run out of yarn, so I ordered another skein. I ended up not needing it for this project but I already have a plan for it. I’m tweaking a design in one of my sock pattern books. I hope it turns out as cool in real life as it looks in my head.
For now, I’m finishing up my second Sunday Swing Sock. I’m almost done with the leg. I wouldn’t say I have full blown Second Sock Syndrome but…it’s close. Hoping I’ll get farther along this weekend, since I have some free time.
What are your knitting plans for the weekend?

You are developing an excellent collection here! Do you think your summer will be a Summer of Socks? I’m still trying to figure out my next knit…I’m thinking I might make socks or a shawl or a poncho! I haven’t seen a poncho in ages…Might be fun!

It certainly is seeming that way! I have other things I want to work on, but I keep going back to socks. I have a shawl I really want to finish but I get bored with it so quickly for some reason. I’m starting to wonder if I’m just not a shawl knitter. Or maybe I will be next year. 😃

We impressed by all of the socks you’ve made! It takes patience to knit on those small needles – at least we think so!
We’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog award. See our blog for instructions. We love your blog!
